Five years after the relaunch of the brand Hublot, CEO Jean-Claude Biver fulfilled a dream: Early 2009 the company moved into its own factory building with a 6000 square meters area in the industrial district of Nyon and settled in to begin the first production of its own movements. Although the crisis slowed the ambitious schedule down, but at the end of 2009 120 people crowded the modern, light-filled studio and took a good half of all the availible space. After this everything happened very quickly: In January 2010 the longstanding Hublot work-supplier BNB Concept went bankrupt, and the clever manager Biver acted without hesitation. He secured not only the entire machinery of a complicated Tourbillon and specialized workshops, but also 30 of his best employers including chief designer Mathias Buttet. The company was put back on track because of a financial injection from the luxury company Louis Vuittin, Moët & Hennessy (LVMH). Supposedly the French had already digged deep in their wallets to make sure that Jean-Claude Biver would continue to work for Hublot.
