The Portuguese Yacht Club Chronograph has all the precision that a navigation tool needs. The name of this Portuguese Yacht Club refers to the legendary Yacht Club Automatic. The Yacht Club Automatic was one of the most popular timepieces in 1970 and had a clearly nautical name. The new Yacht Club is the only one in its family that has a protected crown, luminous hands and luminous numerals. The new Portuguese Yacht Club is striking because of its ruggednes and classical appearance. Thanks to the rubber strap and high waterproofness this Portuguese is ready to sail across the rough waters. The official launch of the Portuguese Yacht Club Chronograph was very special. The launch took place on a large yacht in Portugal. IWC invited top skippers on the yacht to attend the launch. These ‘top-skippers’ had all sailed solo and won several major sailing events. THey had to give an overview of the sailing techniques in the blue waters. After this IWC took the skippers and the Portuguese Yacht Club to take a couple of ‘test runs’. This means the new Yacht Club is tested by professionals during its official launch. After this the skippers got a tour through the historic Lisbon. A city that has had a large share in the maritime history.
