In 1952 the first Navitimer was launched. The watch is considered the best pilot’s watch of that time and is therefore chosen as the official time instrument of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA). The AOPA is the largest association of pilots in the world. At first the watch was called the ‘Navigation Timer’. Later the name Navitimer was introduced. The multifunctional wristwatch has a special built-in navigationcomputer. With this computer the watch can measure climb speed, average speed and fuel conspumtion. All Navitimers contain a stopwatch and a rotating lunette. The Navitimer collection has grown a lot since 1952. Today you can find luxury models in gold, but also more complicated models like the Navitimer QP. And of course there are the fundamental Navitimers with a black dial and a steel case. The famous ‘806’ model that was launched in 1952 has found his way through the years and is now the oldest chronograph in the whole world. Interestingly, the idea and the shape of the first Navitimer has barely changed. A real top performance.
